User Experience [UX] / User Interface [UI] Designer

Position Overview:

As a UX/UI Designer, you will play a vital role in supporting our delivery teams by identifying opportunities to create better user experiences throughout the specific user journey. You will be responsible for crafting intuitive and visually appealing digital experiences across various platforms by presenting aesthetically pleasing brand/storyboard strategies that will effectively reach more customers within a seamless UI framework. You will collaborate closely with developers, project managers, and clients to understand user needs and deliver designs that enhance user satisfaction and engagement, thus ensuring the end-to-end user journey perfectly synergies products or services with the desired client outcome.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct user research and gather insights to inform design decisions: Collaborate with teams to understand baseline qualitative and quantitative project requirements. Design capture methods, and project reporting tools to deliver findings and insights to notify next steps.
2. Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs: Create and communicate interaction and design direction that aligns with project brief requirements and discovered insights.
3. Collaborate with Tech Lead and developers: Ensure seamless integration of designs into functional user interfaces and testing environments.
4. Design Ideation: Formulate frameworks to ideate design outputs and feedback loops taking into consideration team and client interpretation perspectives.
5. Stay up-to-date with Industry trends: Ensure to maintain a close finger on the pulse of Industry trends and best practices to ensure our work remains creative, innovative, and relevant throughout the design processes and deliver outputs that resonate with clients. Responsive Design, Data Visualisation, Accessibility, etc.
6. Design WIP Interaction: Participate in weekly design meetings, present design concepts, and incorporate feedback to refine or enhance design iterations moving to final deliverables.
7. Effective Communication: Coordinate and manage communication across project teams, including designers, developers, and other stakeholders, to maintain high levels of transparency and collaboration throughout the entire design process.
8. Foster a positive and collaborative team environment: Promote teamwork, knowledge sharing, and professional growth among project team members.
9. Deep understanding of Cultural sensitivity: When presenting to and engaging with clients.
10. Solicit regular feedback: Take direction and feedback from senior team members, actively participating in design critiques and brainstorming sessions. Offer insights and ideas to enhance agile team methodologies and project outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a UX Designer or similar role within a Digital Agency or related field. (Experience within a digital design role at an agency level or within a relevant industry is advantageous but not a must.)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Interaction Design Certification, related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative and user-centred design solutions across various platforms.
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as, Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or similar design tools.
  • Solid understanding of user-centred design principles, journey mapping and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate design concepts to all project stakeholders easily and effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at any given time, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Proactive mindset and strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to identify and address project risks and issues promptly.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Attentive attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality outputs on time and within budget.

Preferred Skills (but not mandatory):

  • Experience with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and responsive design principles.
